Not a lot has happened since the November blog though we have spent 5 weeks tiling the tops of house walls and then refreshing the house by repainting it. Thank God for rollers so easy to apply paint especially on the 40 foot wall that is the boundary between the house and the road. Unfortunately the cement skimmed surfaces applied to walls and houses in Portugal seems to have a high sand content which in turn led to large lumps of the surface dropping off as we prepared for painting so I had to do a skim cover so the paint would have something to stick to. Still the whole place looks fresh and clean so we have a lot of satisfaction from that.
Well we are now into winter here though to be fair the daylight temperatures sometimes reach a cool 70F but night time sees it drop to 5F and the log fire is up and burning keeping us oldies warm.
Tomorrow (Tuesday) sees us set off for the UK to spend the festive season with family and friends for the first time in 9 years as previously we were usually in foreign climes.
WE WISH YOU ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.
